COLUMBUS, GA — Columbus St. extended its winning streak to four matches with a dominant 5-0 victory over visiting Montevallo on Wednesday. The regional powerhouse controlled the contest from start to finish, outshooting the Falcons 22-11 while capitalizing on defensive vulnerabilities to secure a decisive conference victory.

Columbus St. struck first when Kendal Coreil scored in the 23rd minute, assisted by Mia Robinson and Michelle Medina. The early breakthrough set the tone for a one-sided affair as the home side maintained possession and created consistent scoring opportunities. Mia Robinson doubled the advantage in the 36th minute with an assist from Aubrey Patterson, giving Columbus St. a commanding 2-0 halftime lead.

The second half proved equally lopsided. Robinson added her second goal in the 49th minute, this time assisted by Sarah Hungerford, extending the lead to 3-0. Payton Conti scored unassisted in the 55th minute to make it 4-0. Shania Wegesend capped the scoring in the 64th minute with help from Hungerford, sealing the rout.

Columbus St. generated 10 shots on goal compared to Montevallo's five, controlling the midfield and limiting the Falcons' attacking opportunities. The home team also won the corner-kick battle 8-3, creating multiple set-piece chances throughout the match. Both teams recorded five saves, though Columbus St.'s superior shot quality made the difference.
