WINTER PARK, Fla. — Rollins bounced back from consecutive winless matches by overwhelming Saint Leo 4-2 on Wednesday. The Tars (6-5-3) scored four goals to extend their winning streak to one, while the visiting Lions (3-9-2) suffered their second consecutive defeat despite a second-half rally.
Rollins controlled the first half, establishing a 3-0 advantage before Saint Leo mounted a comeback. Alayna Townsend opened scoring in the 7th minute, then added a second goal in the 17th minute with an assist from Emma Griner. Emma McMurry extended the lead to 3-0 in the 28th minute, putting the home team firmly in control heading into halftime.
Saint Leo emerged with renewed intensity after the break. Chloe Froese cut the deficit to 3-1 in the 67th minute, assisted by Ella Van Doren. Ilaria Miclet scored moments later in the 68th minute with a setup from Chayse McGirt, narrowing the gap to 3-2 and briefly threatening a complete turnaround.
Rollins responded decisively to Saint Leo's momentum shift. Alice Tesser restored the three-goal cushion in the 74th minute, assisted by Griner, effectively sealing the victory and ending any Lions comeback hopes.
