The away team struck early and often, establishing control before halftime and cruising through the second half against a struggling Westmont squad.
Luke Parker opened scoring in the 4th minute, assisted by Bryan Ortiz, giving Vanguard an immediate advantage. Robert Ronco doubled the lead in the 8th minute, and the Lions' relentless attack continued throughout the first half. Adan Alvarado extended the margin to 3-0 in the 29th minute, followed by Anthony Medina's goal in the 30th minute with an assist from Alvarado. By halftime, Vanguard had built a commanding 4-0 lead that proved insurmountable.
Slater Hammer added a fifth goal in the 50th minute early in the second half, pushing Vanguard's advantage to 5-0. Westmont finally broke through in the 60th minute when Weston Ash scored with assists from Cash Anderholt and Leonel Olivo Ortiz, providing the home team's lone bright spot.
