SALEM, W.Va. — Salem (WV) dominated West Va. Wesleyan 3-0 on Wednesday, October 29, extending its winning streak to one game while handing the visiting Bobcats their second consecutive loss. The Tigers struck early and controlled the match throughout, with Nicholas Vieyra and Josue Villegas combining for two of the three goals in a decisive regional performance.

Vieyra opened the scoring in the 22nd minute, assisted by Villegas, giving Salem an early advantage. Villegas doubled the lead in the 38th minute with an unassisted goal, and Copper West sealed the victory in the 40th minute to give the home side a commanding 3-0 halftime lead. The three-goal cushion proved insurmountable for West Va. Wesleyan, which managed only eight shots on goal despite 18 total attempts.

Salem's defense proved stingy throughout, recording eight saves while limiting the Bobcats' offensive opportunities. West Va. Wesleyan generated six corner kicks but failed to convert any into scoring chances. The Tigers' backline, anchored by their goalkeeper, weathered sustained pressure in the second half without conceding.

West Va. Wesleyan pressed for a response after halftime, particularly in the middle stages of the second half, but Salem's defense remained resolute. The Bobcats' best chances came from distance, with multiple shots sailing high or wide. Salem made five substitutions at halftime to manage the match, rotating fresh legs into the lineup while maintaining control.

Yellow cards were issued sparingly
