CUI Defeats Biola 2-0 Behind Bella Barrett's Second-Half Brace

LA MIRADA, Calif. — CUI's regional powerhouse credentials strengthened Wednesday with a dominant 2-0 shutout victory over Biola, extending the Golden Eagles' winning streak to two matches. Bella Barrett scored twice, including the decisive second-half goal, as the visitors controlled play throughout the NCAA Division II contest.

The Golden Eagles (10-2-4) broke through early when Barrett found the back of the net in the 2nd minute, assisted by Elle Soleau and Kalli Cho. CUI's aggressive start set the tone against a Biola squad struggling through a three-match losing streak. The Eagles' defense proved suffocating, limiting the Eagles to seven shot attempts despite Biola's seven corner kicks.

Barrett sealed the victory in the 63rd minute with her second goal, again assisted by Anjelina Nieto and Cho. The combination highlighted CUI's offensive efficiency—the Golden Eagles generated just 10 total shots but converted two into goals while maintaining defensive discipline.
