Ashland and Findlay Battle to Scoreless Draw in Division II Matchup

By College Footy Soccer October 31, 2025 2 min read 0 views

FINDLAY, Ohio — Ashland and Findlay played to a 0-0 draw on Thursday, with both regional powerhouses unable to break through in a defensive stalemate. The Eagles (11-2-3) and Oilers (9-3-4) combined for 13 shots on goal but neither team could find the back of the net, extending Ashland's unbeaten streak to three matches.

Ashland dominated possession and created the better scoring opportunities throughout the contest. The Eagles recorded six shots on goal compared to Findlay's four, with Emily Pate, Dani Hicks, and Tessa Blain generating the most dangerous looks. Pate fired high and wide in the 17th minute, while Hicks saw efforts blocked and sail wide in the first half before adding more chances after the break.

Findlay's defense stood firm despite the pressure, with goalkeeper making six saves to preserve the shutout. Addison Williams provided Findlay's most threatening moment in the 38th minute with a low shot that went wide. The Oilers' backline, anchored by multiple substitutions in the first half, limited Ashland's clear-cut opportunities despite the Eagles' territorial advantage.

Both teams made significant lineup adjustments at halftime. Ashland replaced five players, while Findlay cycled in fresh legs with five substitutions of their own. The second half saw continued attacking from Ashland, with Clara Richardson and Natalie Miskerik testing Findlay's defense, but the home team's goalkeeper remained equal to the task.
