FERRUM, Va. — Chowan defeated Ferrum 1-0 on Wednesday, extending its winning streak to two matches with a decisive second-half goal. The Hawks broke through a scoreless first half when Cameron Letterlough found the net in the 47th minute, assisted by Bradley Williams, giving the visitors their ninth victory of the season.

The opening 45 minutes produced few clear-cut opportunities despite Chowan's early pressure. Hlynur Fridriksson and Bradley Binns each fired shots wide for the Hawks, while Ferrum's Payton Rausch and Joshua Harrigan tested Chowan's defense without finding the target. The Demons made four substitutions before halftime, signaling tactical adjustments that failed to generate offensive momentum.

Chowan's breakthrough came shortly after the restart when Letterlough capitalized on Williams' setup to give the Hawks a 1-0 advantage. The goal proved decisive despite Ferrum's sustained second-half assault. The home team generated eight shots on goal compared to Chowan's three, but goalkeeper Lucas Kibrya's eight saves preserved the visitors' lead through the final whistle.

Ferrum dominated possession in the latter stages, earning five corner kicks to Chowan's seven overall. Jonathan Nicacio, Payton Rausch, and Jadon Brooks all registered attempts for the Demons, but none found the back of the net. Ferrum's Gabriel Blanco and Oliver McIntosh entered late in the match as part of multiple substitution waves, yet the adjustments could not overcome Chowan's defensive resolve.
