MILLERSVILLE, Pa. — West Chester and Millersville played to a 1-1 draw Wednesday in a competitive NCAA Division II matchup that saw both teams create scoring opportunities but ultimately settle for a point. The Golden Rams (6-5-3) struck first through Owen Slack in the fourth minute, but the Colonials (8-3-4) equalized through Roy Parkyn late in the first half to secure the tie.

Slack's early goal gave West Chester an unexpected advantage. The Golden Rams' forward capitalized on a chance in the opening minutes, putting pressure on Millersville's defense from the start. However, the hosts responded methodically, with Parkyn finding the back of the net at 54:47 to level the match and set the tone for an evenly contested second half.

Both teams generated chances throughout the contest. West Chester attempted 11 shots overall with three reaching the goalkeeper, while Millersville managed nine attempts with four on target. The Golden Rams dominated possession in stretches, earning seven corner kicks compared to Millersville's four. Defensive discipline proved crucial, with each team recording multiple blocks and clearances to prevent further scoring.

The match grew increasingly physical as it progressed. Zachary Northey received a yellow card for West Chester in the 47th minute for unsporting conduct. Millersville's Kehmar Green was sent off in the 57th minute for denying a goal-scoring opportunity, forcing the Colonials to complete the final 33 minutes with 10 players. Despite the numerical disadvantage, Millersville held firm defensively.
