SAGINAW, Mich. — Saginaw Valley claimed a 2-0 victory over visiting St. Cloud State on Friday, extending the Huskies' struggles with a dominant second-half performance. The Cardinals broke through late in the match to secure the win before a home crowd, improving their regional standing in NCAA Division II competition.

St. Cloud State (4-11-1, 2-9 conference) arrived in Michigan riding a three-game losing streak, having been outscored 6-1 in its previous two contests. The Huskies generated early pressure with shots from Owen Worsdell and William Gonzalez in the first half, but neither found the target. Andrés García also tested Saginaw Valley's defense with a blocked attempt, yet the scoreless stalemate persisted through 45 minutes.

Angel Aguilera opened the scoring for Saginaw Valley in the 61st minute, giving the hosts their first lead of the evening. The breakthrough proved pivotal, as Adrian Hatman doubled the advantage seven minutes later with an assist from Aguilera, sealing the result with nearly 20 minutes remaining.

St. Cloud State mounted a late response, with Matteo Bosch and Yousif Atia creating chances in the final stages. Bosch's free kick in the 87th minute forced a save from Connor Beach, but the Huskies could not convert their limited opportunities. The visitors finished with three shots on goal compared to Saginaw Valley's two, yet the Cardinals' clinical finishing proved decisive.
