LAS VEGAS, N.M. — Colorado School of Mines dismantled New Mexico Highlands 3-0 on Friday, extending its winning streak to two matches while the Highlands absorbed their 12th consecutive loss. The visiting Orediggers controlled the first half, establishing early offensive pressure that eventually broke through before halftime to secure a dominant regional victory.
Bella Campos opened the scoring in the 12th minute, assisted by Afton Rasco, giving Mines an early advantage. Rasco doubled the lead just two minutes later in the 14th minute with Campos returning the favor on the assist. The two-goal cushion proved decisive, as the Orediggers' attacking duo had already seized control of the match's tempo and rhythm.
Campos added her second goal in the 28th minute, again assisted by Rasco, to establish a commanding 3-0 halftime lead. The partnership between Campos and Rasco proved too much for Highlands' defense to contain, with the pair combining for all three goals in a clinical first-half performance. Mines' offensive efficiency was evident in their shot totals, recording 18 attempts with eight finding the target.
New Mexico Highlands managed six shots on goal but could not convert any opportunities against the Mines defense.
