WASHINGTON, D.C. — Longwood broke open a tight contest with four second-half goals to defeat Presbyterian 5-3 on Friday, extending its winning streak to one game. The Lancers (3-8-5) dominated the attacking third after halftime, overwhelming the Blue Hose (6-7-5) with relentless pressure and clinical finishing.

The first half remained competitive despite Presbyterian's early defensive struggles. Aaron Asamoah opened scoring for Longwood in the 10th minute, assisted by Ezrah Serralde and Jesus Macaya. Presbyterian responded with resilience, but neither team could find the net again before intermission as goalkeeper Tim Baerwalde made three crucial saves for the visitors.

Longwood's second-half adjustments proved decisive. Christer Salvesen headed in Brando Bedolla's corner kick in the 48th minute to extend the lead to 2-0. Presbyterian briefly threatened when Iragi Kalala scored in the 51st minute, but Benjamin Ferrero answered immediately at 52:09, assisted by Paul Espinoza and Bedolla, restoring Longwood's two-goal cushion.

Syrus Conolly added a fourth goal in the 62nd minute off an assist from Jesus Macaya, putting the match effectively out of reach at 4-1. Bedolla capped Longwood's offensive display with his own goal in the 72nd minute, also assisted by Macaya, who finished with three assists on the evening.
