STORM LAKE, Iowa — Dubuque dominated Buena Vista 5-0 on Tuesday, delivering a decisive victory that showcased the visiting student-athletes' offensive prowess in NCAA Division III competition. The Spartans, riding a two-game winning streak, overwhelmed the home Beavers with 15 shots on goal and 11 corner kicks while limiting Buena Vista to just three shot attempts.

Winston Hedvall led the offensive charge with two goals for the Spartans. Hedvall opened the second-half scoring in the 47th minute, then added his second in the 56th minute with an assist from Mario Meier. Mario Meier contributed a goal in the 55th minute, assisted by Luka Tomic. Lukas Sandanger completed the rout with a goal in the 60th minute, assisted by Ebbot Bekkebraaten.

Dubuque's scholar-athletes controlled possession throughout, generating consistent pressure that Buena Vista's defense could not withstand. The Spartans' defensive unit recorded 11 saves, while the Beavers managed only three. The disparity in corner kicks—11 to 2—reflected Dubuque's sustained attacking approach and ability to dictate play from start to finish.

The first half remained scoreless despite Dubuque's territorial advantage. Buena Vista's goalkeeper made several crucial stops to keep the match level through 45 minutes, but the home team's offensive struggles were evident with limited scoring opportunities. Dubuque's student-athletes adjusted their approach after halftime, breaking through with four goals
