DALLAS, Pa. — Misericordia defeated Lebanon Valley 3-2 on Friday, snapping a two-match winless streak with a comeback victory. The Cougars scored twice in the second half to overcome a 2-1 deficit, with Kohen Stiles' 54th-minute goal proving decisive. The win improved Misericordia to 8-6-4 overall.
Shane Macko opened scoring for the hosts in the 17th minute, assisted by Spencer Pisani. Lebanon Valley answered through JJ Porter's 44th-minute goal to level the match at 1-1 before halftime. Reese Dieffenderfer restored Misericordia's lead just before the break at 41:40, giving the home side a 2-1 advantage entering the second half.
The Flying Dutchmen equalized when Gavin Rapp scored in the 75th minute with an assist from Nathan Newsom. Stiles then delivered the decisive blow three minutes earlier in the second half, capitalizing on a Macko setup to put Misericordia ahead 3-2. Lebanon Valley pressed for an equalizer but could not find the net again.
Lebanon Valley dominated possession with 25 shot attempts compared to Misericordia's eight, and the visitors earned eight corner kicks to the Cougars' four. However, Misericordia's goalkeeper made seven saves to preserve the victory. Lebanon Valley recorded nine shots on goal but managed only two conversions.
