Lee Defeats Union (TN) 3-1 Behind Early Goal Surge

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — Lee bounced back from consecutive losses with a commanding 3-1 victory over visiting Union (TN) on Friday night. The Flames (5-7-3) broke through early and maintained control throughout, improving their record while Union (TN) (3-7-5) suffered its second straight defeat in Gulf South Conference play.

Sam Clark opened the scoring in the 7th minute for Lee, assisted by Marius Brandtun, giving the hosts an early advantage. The Flames' aggressive approach continued through the first half, though Union (TN) mounted occasional pressure without finding the back of the net before intermission.

Lee extended its lead in the second half when Ethan Stewart scored in the 55th minute, with Carlos Fernandes providing the assist. The two-goal cushion proved decisive as Union (TN) struggled to generate consistent offensive opportunities. Zane Marsh added insurance in the 62nd minute, assisted by Nicolas Napoli, effectively putting the match out of reach at 3-0.

Rich Rokodi-Phelps scored Union (TN)'s lone goal in the 80th minute, but the late tally proved merely consolatory. The Bulldogs' defense had been breached repeatedly throughout the second half, unable to contain Lee's attacking rhythm after halftime adjustments.
