CHESTNUT HILL, MASSACHUSETTS — Boston College defeated Saint Joseph's 2-1 on Friday, snapping a two-game losing streak with a second-half surge. The Eagles (7-8-1) controlled possession throughout and capitalized on their dominance after halftime, while the Hawks (6-7-4) managed only two shots on goal despite eight corner attempts.

Luke Johnson gave Saint Joseph's an early advantage in the 18th minute from the penalty spot, converting low to the right after Fynn Henze fouled Tommaso Rossetto in the box. The Hawks' lead held through most of the first half as Boston College struggled to break through despite sustained pressure.

Ask Ekeland equalized for the Eagles in the 21st minute with a low left-footed finish, capitalizing on a scramble in the Saint Joseph's penalty area. The goal energized Boston College's attack, and the teams entered halftime deadlocked at 1-1.

Boston College made four substitutions at the break, including bringing back Ziad Abdul-Malak and introducing Christian Bejar and Johannes Hanken Tjostheim. The adjustments paid immediate dividends as the Eagles dominated the second half's opening stages.

Ekeland struck again in the 61st minute, firing low to the right from close range to give Boston College a 2-1 lead. The goal proved decisive, as Saint Joseph's could not generate sufficient chances to equalize despite pressing late. Cooper Jennings made seven saves for the Hawks, while Boston College's Patrick Donovan recorded one crucial stop.
