JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Siena extended its winning streak to two matches with a 2-0 victory over Saint Peter's on Saturday, controlling the second half after a scoreless first 45 minutes. The Saints broke through late in the first half before adding insurance early in the second, outshot the hosts 8-5 on goal to secure the road win.

Lucas Almeida opened the scoring in the 43rd minute to give Siena a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime. Lee Mara doubled the lead just before the hour mark in the 46th minute, assisted by Tomislav Vrdoljak, effectively putting the match out of reach for the Peacocks.

Saint Peter's struggled to generate consistent offensive pressure throughout the contest. The home side managed five shots on goal but could not break through Siena's defense, which recorded six saves. Curtis Dunn received a yellow card in the 31st minute for unsporting conduct as frustration mounted for the hosts.

Siena's defense proved stingy despite Saint Peter's making three substitutions at halftime in an attempt to spark their attack. The Saints limited Saint Peter's to nine total shot attempts while maintaining possession and dictating play in the second half. Both teams earned three corner kicks apiece, but Siena converted its opportunities more effectively.

The victory improves Siena to 7-5-4 overall, building momentum after a 3-1 win over Marist on Wednesday. The Saints have now won consecutive matches and sit in position to make a tournament push as the regular season enters its final stretch. Siena
