QUEENS, N.Y. — Queens (NY) overwhelmed Roberts Wesleyan 4-1 on Saturday, extending its winning streak to two matches. The regional powerhouse controlled possession throughout and capitalized on second-half opportunities to secure a decisive victory that improves its record to 12-3-3.
Roberts Wesleyan struck first through Archie Murphy in the 21st minute, assisted by Louis Ferrari, giving the visiting Redhawks an early advantage. The goal came against the run of play, as Queens dominated territorial possession with 12 corner kicks compared to Roberts Wesleyan's one. Despite the early setback, Queens maintained pressure and created numerous scoring opportunities before halftime.
The second half proved decisive. Andrew Johnson equalized for Queens in the 54th minute, leveling the match at 1-1.
