Sam Vigilante's goal in the 35th minute proved decisive as the Tigers (12-1-2) dominated possession and limited the visiting Big Green (3-7-3) to minimal offensive opportunities. The victory strengthens Princeton's NCAA Tournament resume ahead of Ivy League play.
Vigilante broke through late in the first half, assisted by Kristian Kelley, giving Princeton a lead it would not relinquish. The goal came after sustained pressure from the home side, which controlled the tempo throughout the opening 45 minutes. Dartmouth, struggling through a three-game losing streak, offered little resistance in the attacking third and managed just one shot on goal for the entire match.
Princeton's offensive dominance was evident in the statistics. The Tigers attempted 22 shots compared to Dartmouth's eight, while outshooting the Big Green 8-1 on goal. Daniel Ittycheria led Princeton's attack with multiple attempts, including one that struck the woodwork. Dartmouth's defense held firm for stretches but ultimately lacked the attacking support to threaten Princeton goalkeeper Kevin Kelley, who needed just one save. The Big Green made multiple substitutions throughout the match, including changes at halftime and in the second half, as they searched for offensive rhythm.
