HIGH POINT, N.C. — #4 High Point dominated #5 Gardner-Webb 3-0 on Saturday in the 2025 Big South Championship tournament, extending its winning streak to two matches. The Panthers controlled the first half and converted three goals to advance in the conference tournament, while Gardner-Webb's four-game losing streak continued at Panther Stadium.
High Point struck first when Bella Burr scored in the 16th minute with a low left-footed shot. The early breakthrough set the tone for the remainder of the first half, as the Panthers maintained possession and created multiple scoring opportunities. Ally Ruiz doubled the advantage in the 17th minute, assisted by Sabba Haghgoo, to give High Point a commanding 2-0 lead before halftime.
Peyton Gilmore added the final goal in the 36th minute to seal the victory before the intermission. High Point's three-goal first-half performance proved decisive, as Gardner-Webb never threatened a comeback despite adjustments made during the break.
