DELAND, FLORIDA — Stetson dominated North Florida 4-1 on Saturday, with the Hatters breaking through early and maintaining control throughout. The home victory marked Stetson's first win in three matches, while North Florida suffered its first loss after consecutive victories.

Andres Mata opened the scoring in the 25th minute, assisted by Daniel Makowem, giving Stetson an early advantage. Zsombor Pall doubled the lead just 26 seconds later with an unassisted goal. North Florida responded before halftime when Paul Schacherer scored in the 35th minute off a Brian McManus Jr. assist, narrowing the deficit to 2-1 heading into the break.

Stetson's second-half adjustments proved decisive. Pall added his second goal in the 63rd minute, again assisted by Makowem, extending the lead to 3-1. Mata sealed the victory with his second goal in the 75th minute, assisted by Andres Rodriguez, putting the match beyond reach.

The Hatters dominated possession and shot attempts, recording nine shots on goal compared to North Florida's three. Stetson's defense limited the Ospreys' opportunities despite North Florida earning four corner kicks to Stetson's three. Goalkeeper saves favored North Florida 5-2, reflecting the visitors' defensive pressure in limited chances.

Mata's two-goal performance highlighted Stetson's offensive efficiency, while Makowem's two assists orchestrated the home team's attack. North Florida's McManus Jr. provided the lone bright spot for the visitors with his assist on Schacherer's goal.

Stetson improves to 5-8-2 overall following the win, snapping a winless streak. North Florida falls to 11-5 after the road loss, dropping the Ospreys' recent form to 1-2 in their last three contests.
