Adan Perez opened scoring in the 28th minute, assisted by Colin McKenna, giving MSU Denver an early advantage. Maxwell Farnum doubled the lead in the 38th minute off a Bryan Vazquez assist to extend the visitors' control before halftime. Dallas Baer sealed the result in the 59th minute with an unassisted goal, providing comfortable cushion for the final stretch.
MSU Denver dominated possession metrics, recording 15 shot attempts compared to Colorado Mesa's 13, while converting at a higher rate with six shots on goal versus the Mesas' five. The Roadrunners also won the corner-kick battle 6-4 and limited Colorado Mesa's scoring opportunities with five saves.
