McMANNVILLE, Oregon — Puget Sound's student-athletes dominated Linfield on Sunday, securing a 4-1 road victory in NCAA Division III competition. The visiting Loggers struck early and often, establishing control through a relentless attacking approach that overwhelmed the home defense.

Alonzo Flores-Barajas opened the scoring in the 10th minute, assisted by Rhys Foote, giving Puget Sound an immediate advantage. Flores-Barajas doubled his impact in the 32nd minute, this time providing the assist for Leif Anderson's goal that extended the lead to 2-0 before halftime.

The second half saw Puget Sound continue its offensive pressure. Owen Pschigoda added a third goal in the 74th minute, effectively putting the match out of reach. Derek Rowe answered for Linfield in the 77th minute with an assist from Julian Lara-Martinez, but Jackson Smith restored Puget Sound's three-goal cushion just three minutes later in the 80th minute.

Puget Sound's student-athletes generated 10 shots on goal compared to Linfield's eight, demonstrating superior finishing efficiency throughout the contest. The Loggers' goalkeeper recorded seven saves to secure the decisive victory.

This win marks an important turnaround for Puget Sound's scholar-athletes, who bounced back after consecutive conference losses to Willamette and Pacific (Oregon). The offensive performance showcased the team's ability to execute at a high level when opportunities presented themselves.
