ITHACA, NEW YORK — Cornell dismantled Lafayette 4-0 on Thursday in a dominant NCAA Division I performance before 820 spectators, outshooting the Leopards 25-4 while recording 11 shots on goal to Lafayette's none.

Sergio Zapata opened the scoring in the 28th minute off a Dominik Kolbl assist, giving Cornell early control. The Big Red (14-3-2) never relented, with Lafayette's defense unable to contain their attacking movement throughout the first half.

Connor Miller extended the lead six minutes into the second half, assisted by Westin Carnevale and Zapata. Adam Schaban quickly added Cornell's third goal in the 57th minute with help from Miller, then completed the rout with an unassisted strike in the 67th minute.

The statistics reflected Cornell's complete dominance. The Big Red's six corner kicks compared to Lafayette's single corner illustrated their territorial control, while Lafayette's goalkeeper made seven saves despite conceding four goals. The Leopards (8-7-7) managed no shots on target, offering little resistance.

Nikolas Hadjimitsis received the match's only yellow card for unsporting conduct in the 47th minute. Cornell's balanced attack and defensive organization demonstrated tournament-caliber form, reinforcing their credentials as legitimate contenders heading into the NCAA Championship's later rounds.
