HUNTINGTON, WEST VIRGINIA — Marshall defeated Cleveland St. 1-0 on Thursday in NCAA Division I Championship action before 1,975 spectators, advancing on David de la Vibora Bonilla's 27th-minute goal.

De la Vibora Bonilla's first-half strike proved decisive as the Thundering Herd (12-3-5) controlled possession throughout. Marshall dominated territorially, outshooting the Vikings 14-6 overall and 4-1 on target while earning eight corner kicks to Cleveland St.'s one.

Cleveland St. (9-4-6) struggled to establish offensive rhythm, managing just one shot on goal. The Vikings' hopes diminished further when Isaac Ortega received a straight red card in the 80th minute, leaving them to finish with 10 men.
